Why The International School of Music is the Best Choice

Outstanding Faculty
Our world class instructors combine high quality musical skill with a nurturing and friendly approach to teaching music. Most importantly, they strive to relate their teaching to each student’s individual learning style and personality.

Private Lessons
Private lessons ensure that the student has the undivided attention of the teacher and can progress at a level suited to his or her musical ability. In order to fit the student’s personality and learning style, ISM has several teachers for each instrument.

All Styles
Students are able to choose from pop, jazz, rock, folk or classical instruction.

Early Childhood Music Program
Small group music and movement classes expose infants, toddlers, and preschoolers to the basics of music in a fun supportive group environment. This program builds a solid foundation for later success in private lessons.

All Ages – Beginners to Advanced
Our current students range from 0 years old to their 70’s. We take great care to teach what you want to learn so that music is rewarding for students of all ages and levels.

Extensive Teaching Hours and Flexible Scheduling
ISM has the ability to schedule lessons for two or more family members at the same time to avoid hours of waiting and driving to different teachers each month.

Optional Certificate/Diploma Programs
ISM faculty can fully prepare interested students for exams and evaluations offered by its own ISM curriculum in addition to the Royal School of Music, American String Teacher Association and National Guild of Piano Teachers/American College of Musicians. These exams allow students to perform in front of the faculty, after which they receive comments on their playing as well as diplomas. We have helped hundreds of students complete exams successfully. However, if students choose to learn their instruments recreationally, they do not need to take exams.

Regular Concerts, Recitals and other performance opportunities
Students are given numerous opportunities to perform at many recitals, festivals, competitions, workshops, etc., which provide them with motivation, confidence and performance experience. All of our music recitals have free admission, so the whole family and friends can attend and enjoy the performances.

Orientation Session and Trial Lesson
All students have the opportunity to discuss their individual goals with faculty and staff.

Superb Customer Service
ISM's desk staff is available to assist you during all teaching hours, every day (weekday afternoons and evenings, and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.).

Focus on Teaching
Weekly lessons are tailored to meet your goals. At the school-all we do is teach. We do not sell or rent instruments of music. This leaves us focused on one thing – providing the highest quality musical instruction to ensure students learn in the manner that is best suited for them.

Charting Your Progress
ISM Faculty provides regular evaluations through written reports.

Professional Accompanist available
Accompanists are provided to make rehearsals and performances easier and more convenient.

Ensembles
Students can participate in numerous chamber and ensemble music groups, jazz combos, and rock bands.

School Atmosphere and Facilities
ISM is small and intimate, which ensures that students develop close mentoring relationships with their teachers. School facilities provide an atmosphere for study and an exciting place to meet other music students. Also, students at ISM experience a unique camaraderie with their colleagues. With a small student body representing over two dozen nations, students make new friends and share diverse musical heritages together.

Diversity
Our community of extraordinary musicians include a diverse student/faculty body from over two dozen countries.

Theory Classes
Classes are taught in theory, harmony, counterpoint, composition, and analysis to supplement private instrumental studies.
