Why take Horn Lessons with us?
French Horn Teachers
Our French Horn teachers work with students of all ages and offer instruction to students of all levels, be they beginner, intermediate, or advanced. During online lessons, students can work on solo literature, etudes, orchestra, and band excerpts from all ranges of styles like classical, jazz, rock, pop, blues, and more!
Our teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that a good musical education not only instills strong musical and technical fundamentals, but also fosters a true appreciation for the arts in general. Our staff and faculty believe in the power of music — music that cultivates self-esteem, self-discipline, and creating thinking skills. This belief creates a positive atmosphere for learning, progress, and fun. All students are introduced to the traditions and styles that influence different compowers to help them build a foundation and deeper appreciation for music.
Performance Opportunities
We offer fantastic opportunities for French horn performances, and all instruments for that matter! Students interact with peers by participating in performances, festivals, concerts, and masterclasses with faculty and other visiting artists. Recitals, which are included in the tuition, allow each student to display their achievements. Our horn students have unique performance opportunities, such as our Carnegie Hall, NY Honors Recital, our Passport Concert Series, as well as our Ambassador Community performances.
Certificate Programs
ISM charts students’ progress through optional written evaluations that contribute to their long term success and ensure that they progress. Optional Certificate/Diploma Programs are offered by ISM both through its own program and by meeting the standards of ABRSM, ASTA, National Piano Guild, NATS, MTNA and many other national organizations.
